Luke 6:20-49

LUKE 6: 20-29

20 And he, lifting up his eyes on his disciples, said: Blessed are ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for you shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for you shall laugh.

22 Blessed shall you be when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you and shall reproach you and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

23 Be glad in that day and rejoice: for behold, your reward is great in heaven, For according to these things did their fathers to the prophets.

24 But woe to you that are rich: for you have your consolation.

25 Woe to you that are filled: for you shall hunger. Woe to you that now laugh: for you shall mourn and weep.

26 Woe to you when men shall bless you: for according to these things did their fathers to the false prophets.

27 But I say to you that hear: Love your enemies. Do good to them that hate you.

28 Bless them that curse you and pray for them that calumniate you.

29 And to him that strikes thee on the one cheek, offer also the other. And him that take away from thee thy cloak, forbid not to take thy coat also.

30 Give to every one that asked thee: and of him that take away thy goods, ask them not again.

31 And as you would that men should do to you, do you also to them in like manner.

32 And if you love them that love you, what thanks are to you? For sinners also love those that love them.

33 And if you do good to them who do good to you, what thanks are to you? For sinners also do this.

34 And if you lend to them of whom you hope to receive, what thanks are to you? For sinners also lend to sinners, for to receive as much.

35 But love ye your enemies: do good, and lend, hoping for nothing thereby: and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the sons of the Highest. For he is kind to the unthankful and to the evil.

36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

37 Judge not: and you shall not be judged. Condemn not: and you shall not be condemned. Forgive: and you shall be forgiven.

38 Give: and it shall be given to you: good measure and pressed down and shaken together and running over shall they give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you shall mete withal, it shall be measured to you again.

39 And he spoke also to them a similitude: Can the blind lead the blind? Do they not both fall into the ditch?

40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one shall be perfect, if he be as his master.

41 And why seest thou the mote in thy brother's eye: but the beam that is in thy own eye thou considerest not?

42 Or how can thou say to thy brother: Brother, let me pull the mote out of thy eye, when thou thyself seest not the beam in thy own eye? Hypocrite, cast first the beam out of thy own eye: and then shalt thou see clearly to take out the mote from thy brother's eye.

43 For there is no good tree that bringeth forth evil fruit: nor an evil tree that bringeth forth good fruit.

44 For every tree is known by its fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns: nor from a bramble bush do they gather the grape.

45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth that which is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

46 And why call you me, Lord, Lord; and do not the things which I say?

47 Every one that cometh to me and heareth my words and doth them, I will show you to whom he is like.

48 He is like to a man building a house, who digged deep and laid the foundation upon a rock. And when a flood came, the stream beat vehemently upon that house: and it could not shake it: for it was founded on a rock.

49 But he that heareth and doth not is like to a man building his house upon the earth without a foundation: against which the stream beat vehemently. And immediately it fell: and the ruin of that house was great.

Important..?

Today is another day that will be left behind.. Another day that won't come back even though I have the entire world to trade for it.. Last night., i have been thinking., what should I do today..? Today will be yesterday by tomorrow.. the time passed so fast.. What should I do., what should i do..? Maybe I should study., study., and study.. using all my time to study.. Why not.., it's a good thing right..? But still., my heart said, "you forgot something important..!!!" But what..? I keep on thinking.. but i still don't get it.. Maybe I should hang out with my friends and have some "yam cha.." It ease my stressful day.. Naa.., maybe not.. not important at all.. I can still yam cha with them at home. So., what are the things that are so important that I forgot..? Hmm.., why this question always appear in my mind straight from my heart..? Maybe I need to see psychiatrist . I will be gone crazy if it keeps on going like this.. Then I pray in my heart.., "Dear God.., I know that you love me and You know that I love you too.. You know that I will never forget you.. but God.., why this question always appear in my mind? Why I am deeply attached to this question..? ".. At a moment., my heart suddenly felt a touched.. A very warm and deep touch that I couldn't explain.. At that moment also., there was a voice in my heart said, "I know that you loves me.. but there are many people out there that need to be love as I love you.. Go.., hold them in your heart and love them as I have love you and never let them go.. " After that., suddenly appeared my dad and mom's images in my mind, then my siblings., followed by my close relatives., after that more and more images of unfortunate people from babies to grannies.. then the last image appeared. It was the person who hurts me the most in this life.. Then suddenly I heard a voice in my heart., "Love your neighbour as I have love you and love also the one who have hurt you.. Forgive and forget.. Fill your life with love NOT hatred..".. From that moment., I felt very touched that my tears suddenly fell down profusely..

Kaamatan (Harvest Festival)

The word Kaamatan is derived from the root word tomot, a Kadazandusun term for harvest. Kaamatan refers to the paddy-harvesting period, which involves a series of traditional rituals culminating finally to the Kaamatan (harvest) festival.The Kaamatan Festival is an annual event in the cultural life of the Kadazandusuns of Sabah since time immemorial. In its deepest sense, Kaamatan festival is a manifestation of Creator and Creation relationship, as well as Inter-Creations relationship. It embodies the principal acts of invocation of divinities, appeasing, purification and restoration, re-union of benevolent spirits, and thanksgiving to the Source of All. It is part of a complex wholesome Momolian religious system centered on the paddy rites of passage and the life cycle of Bambarayon - the in-dwelling spirit of paddy.

Appeasing is done in respect of Bambarayon, Deities, Divinities and Spirits, who may have been hurt by human wrongful, acts. Purification is performed in respect of human and spiritual needs for forgiveness followed by resolutions to make themselves worthy of the gifts of life from God. Restoration in necessary to ensure the health and well being of Bambarayon, mankind and other spiritual beings. Re-union is realised in respect of human needs to be integrated in body, mind and spirit within the concept of the seven-in-one divinity in humanity, as well as re-union of Bambarayon with human Sunduan. Finally Thanksgiving is observed as befitting for all creations to express their gratitude and appreciation for the gifts of life (through Huminodun) and all life supportive system on earth that their Creator lovingly and generously gave them.

Realize, think and help..

All of us in here does have an average or maybe a very high class life, but have you ever heard of poverty. It is so lifeless to see little children in the street eating trash or left overs, so if we think., realize billion times a day that we are so lucky to eat fresh foods and to sleep well, to drink mineral water and to experience school, to interact and most of all to live with pleasures. After that., think and realize how we can help, instead of giving money to the beggar, give food. That is the simplest way we can do. So realize, think and help. :)

We can make the difference..

No one should be without food, clothing, or shelter. Everyone is entitled to these things because they are human beings. We can all make a difference a little or a lot at a time.

Fight against Poverty..

Rather than look to see what others are doing and talk about what everyone should do to fight poverty, it is better to start the fight with yourself! Stop wasting. Try to stop wastage around you. Give a small share of what you have bought for yourself to someone who is hungry. A small deed goes a long way to make the world a happier place to live in!
